Day 3 TMB

More incredible scenery as we headed up over the Col de Seigne into Italy.

Refuge Mottet, an old cheese-making farm converted to a hostel.
This is an incredible story. This young woman had dinner at our table and we learned that she had spent several months earlier this year hiking the Appalachian Trail. Upon further questioning it turned out that she knew Merilyn's son Ethan who is also hiking the AT. They had hiked together for several weeks. It's a small world!

One arm in France, one arm in Italy.

Looking down from Col de Seigne into Italy. That's a glacier in the foreground and Mt Blanc in the background.

The building way up on the hill at the foot of the glaciers was tonight's accommodation, Refuge Elisabetta. Very remote and rustic.

And this is our bed(s)-all five of us sleeping in a row in the loft area. Good thing we all get along! (There are only five of us these few days. Cathy has knee problems and was transported to Couermayeur, where we will meet up.)
